Representatives of Sarajevo Canton hunting associations, the Ministry of Economy and the Tourism Board met at the Bukovik hunting lodge on 25 February 2022.
The 2021–2022 hunting season, which opened on 3 October 2021, officially closed on 6 February 2022.
A major reforestation campaign was held in Sarajevo Canton on 30 October 2021. The Sarajevo Hunting Association helped plant 5,000 seedlings at Grdonj.
The 2021–2022 hunting season with dogs opened successfully last weekend. Hunting sections Hum, Crepoljsko and Nahorevo took part in the gatherings.
The new hunting season opens on 3 October 2021. Hikers, walkers and recreationists are asked to remain on marked trails when visiting the surrounding mountains.
After Centar Municipality and residents of Kromolj reported a large number of wild boar causing property damage, the Sarajevo Hunting Association organized hunts on 17 and 24 January.
All members of the Sarajevo Hunting Association must pay their membership fee for 2021 by the end of February. The fee payable by every hunter is BAM 110.
Years of monitoring bears, wolves and other large wildlife in the protected Skakavac area have paid off. A team of university professors, veterinarians, rangers and hunters captured the first bear to be fitted with a telemetry collar for round-the-clock tracking.
